Pros, Cons, & Pay For Uber Drivers https://thesavvycouple.com/is-driving-for-uber-worth-it/ https://thesavvycouple.com/is-driving-for-uber-worth-it/#respond Fri, 26 May 2023 19:32:48 +0000 https://thesavvycouple.com/?p=38681 We’re all familiar with Uber, the app that has revolutionized ridesharing. But have you ever considered flipping the script and becoming the driver instead of the passenger?

It could be a great way to put a little extra cash in your pockets in the gig economy. And for some, the answer might just be sitting in their driveway.

Uber offers a unique opportunity to capitalize on your car and free time. You can cruise the city, meet new people, and get paid for it.

But it’s not always sunshine and dollar bills. Before reviving your engine, you may be asking. “Is driving for Uber worth it” with gas costing what it does.

So, buckle up as we look at driving for Uber!

Key Takeaways

If you’re considering driving for Uber, here are some things to know:

  • Flexible Schedule: Uber drivers can choose when and where to drive so they can work around other commitments.
  • Pay: Your pay is the Fare + Promos + Tips, which can vary based on where and how long you drive.
  • Insurance Coverage: Uber provides insurance coverage for drivers and riders, but it’s important to understand the details of this coverage.
  • Expenses and Taxes: You’ll be responsible for covering expenses like gas and maintenance. Uber drivers are considered 1099 independent contractors, so you must pay taxes on your earnings.
  • Passenger Ratings: Make sure to provide a safe, comfortable ride, and be polite and professional to keep your Uber driver passenger rating high.

Is Driving For Uber Worth It?

uber driver Smiling driver dirving a car with elegant businesswoman. Woman talking on mobie phone.

Bottom line? Driving for Uber can be worth it, but only if you cruise into it with your eyes wide open about the costs and realities of the road.

The answer isn’t always a simple yes or no, though- how profitable your driving really depends on the situation and where you are.

Imagine living in a city that never sleeps, with busy streets with potential passengers at all hours. Then becoming an Uber driver could be your golden ticket to some extra cash.

Plus, those peak and surge pricing periods? They’re your best buddies, pushing your Uber driver earnings up when the demand is high.

But if you live in a small town or less busy area, finding people to drive around may be hard.

These things also affect your earnings, and on a slow day, you might just break even after paying for gas and car maintenance.

Uber Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Easy to get started: Getting started as an Uber driver is relatively easy. You only need a car that meets Uber’s requirements, a valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Flexible Schedule: As an Uber driver, you set your own schedule and can choose to work full-time or part-time.
  • Uber Visa Debit Card: A “Get Paid Quickly” feature that makes instant pay possible and goes right onto the card.
  • Access to Uber Pro: Uber Pro is a rewards program for drivers that offers benefits such as cashback on gas, discounts on car maintenance, and more. The program is designed to help drivers save money and improve their overall experience.
  • Commercial Insurance provided: Uber provides commercial insurance to cover the drivers and riders from when the trip begins to when it is completed.

Cons

  • No Employee Benefits: As an independent contractor, you’re not eligible for benefits such as health insurance, sick days, or paid time off. This can make it difficult to balance driving for Uber with other responsibilities.
  • Varied Income: Your Uber pay can be unpredictable, making it difficult to plan and budget your expenses. It’s not a set hourly rate, which is typical for gig economy jobs.
  • Safety Concerns: As an Uber driver, you may encounter unsafe situations, such as unruly passengers or dangerous neighborhoods. It’s important to take precautions and prioritize your safety at all times.

How Much Do Uber Drivers Make?

We’ve heard that Uber drivers have the potential to earn up to $20+ per hour.

On the flip side, some drivers might only make around $8 an hour in smaller areas with fewer tips.

We know that 3 things make up how much an Uber driver makes – fares, promotions, and tips:

Fares

Fares are the cash customers pay to Uber, and the Uber driver gets 75% of the fare. So a $20 ride means you’ll earn $15 as a base rate for that drive.

But here’s the thing- your fares can swing a bit depending on your city or region.

Some places offer a base fare with added bucks for your travel time and distance.

There’s an Uber system called ‘Upfront Fares’ to help you with this. Here, you’ll see your potential earnings and destination on the Uber app before accepting the trip.

Plus, if your route gets a little caught up with traffic and your trip time extends, you get a fare bump. Not a bad deal, right?

Promotions

As an Uber Driver, you also get promos to help you earn more, and the app gives you all the details. Promotions are extra gigs you can pick up to make extra money.

You’ve got surge pricing, which means your earnings get a nice little boost when the ride requests pour in.

Then there are ‘Quests,’ which are about completing a certain number of trips for extra cash.

And let’s not forget about Boost+, which gives you more cash for every trip you start in a promotional zone and complete successfully.

Tips

Let me tell you, friend, never underestimate the power of a tip.

Riders can tip you directly in the app, and the best part?

Every single cent of those tips goes straight into your pocket. So, always remember to give your riders the best service you can muster.

What About Car Expenses?

car mechanic working under car

Being an Uber driver is a bit like running your own small business; like any business, there are expenses to consider.

While Uber does provide insurance when you’re on the job, this doesn’t cover all car expenses you’ve got to cover.

Knowing these expenses is important to get a clearer picture of how much Uber drivers make.

Uber drivers are independent contractors and can possibly take these expenses off as a business expense, but a tax rebate won’t cover everything every year.

Here are the typical care expenses you’ll face as an Uber driver:

Vehicle Upkeep

You’ll be clocking miles as you drive, which means routine maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, and the occasional new set of tires.

You need these whenever you have a car, but driving more means these pop up more often, and you need your car to be at its best to keep passengers safe!

Fuel

Every mile you drive is gas you’ll need to pay for.

And remember, this isn’t just the miles with a passenger in your car. It’s also the miles you drive to your pick-up location and any driving you do waiting for your next ride request.

You’ll be driving more and spending more on gas, so you need to make sure your pay covers your gas costs.

Car Insurance

Yes, Uber provides a policy while you’re on an active ride, but you’ll still need your own personal policy when you’re not working.

You need it before you can get approved as an Uber driver too! So make sure you have insurance, period, if you’ve got a car.

Some insurance companies also require a rideshare endorsement on your policy, so that’s an added cost to consider.

Depreciation

And finally, there’s depreciation. The more you drive, the less your car is worth, impacting its resale value.

Pay Example

Here’s an example of what your pay might look like if you’re an Uber driver:

Let’s say you are picking someone up at the Southall Farm & Inn in Franklin, Tennessee, and want to go to Nashville International Airport to catch their flight.

The ride from the Inn to the airport is approximately 28.6 miles and will take around 55 minutes. The rider chose the Comfort package that was available to them.

To find the driver payout for this trip, we’ll need to know the current rates for the Comfort package in that area. The rates are $0.36 per minute and $0.96 per mile.

Here’s how the rider’s fee is figured (but not exact amounts, just an example!):

  • Minimum fare = $10.50
  • Per-minute = $0.36 x 55 = $19.80
  • Per-mile = $0.96 x 28.6 = 27.46
  • Estimated surcharges = $.4.87
  • Marketplace Fee = $4.00

The rider’s total is $66.63, but the driver will only be paid a part of that fee.

  • Driver’s Gross Pay = $66.63 – $4.00 = $62.63
  • Uber’s Commission = $62.63 X 25% = $15.68
  • Ride Net Pay = $62.63 – $15.68 = $46.95

So in this example, you’re earning almost $47 for your almost hour of driving.

Remember that this is just an example and may not be the exact hourly pay for that area, and your earnings will vary by location.

Also, remember that you’ll have to deduct expenses such as gas, car maintenance, and insurance from your earnings!

Making Money Driving An Uber

Here are some tips to help new drivers make the most Uber driver pay and keep driver expenses down.

Drive People On Your Way Home

Driving for Uber can be a great way to earn extra on your commute home during rush hour.

Many Uber drivers use this strategy to maximize their earnings and reduce their downtime during rush hour.

By taking passengers going in the same direction as you, you can make money on your typical drive home.

Learn Backroads & Avoid Traffic

Knowing the backroads and alternate routes to popular places can help you avoid traffic and get your passengers to their destinations faster.

It can help you complete more trips and earn more money.

Use navigation apps like Google Maps to find the fastest route and avoid traffic jams, but don’t forget to have your driver app running while you drive.

Don’t Drive Around While You Wait

Driving around aimlessly while waiting for a ride wastes time and gas.

Instead, park your car in a central location where you’ll likely get ride requests to optimize Uber work and save money on gas.

You can also use the Uber driver app in driver mode to see where other rideshare drivers are and position yourself in a less crowded area.

Airports Rides Can Be Hit Or Miss

Airport rides can be a great source of Uber earnings but can also be hit or miss on time and effort.

If you’re near an airport, it’s worth waiting for a ride request, but don’t rely on airport rides as your main source of Uber ride requests.

Sometimes, you’ll get a long-distance ride that pays well, while other times, you’ll get a short ride that barely covers your expenses back and forth.

Keep Customers Happy

happy passenger

Happy customers are more likely to give you a high rating and leave a better tip, making you a profitable driver!

Maintaining a friendly, polite, and professional demeanor with your passengers can go a long way in creating a positive experience.

To make their ride even more enjoyable, consider offering a bottle of water or an extra-long charging cable equipped with all three major phone adapters.

Keeping your car clean, well-maintained, and clutter-free is also crucial, as it shows that you take pride in providing a comfortable environment for your passengers.

Other Apps To Make Money With Your Car

Looking for ways to make extra money with your car besides Uber? You’re in luck! There are plenty of apps out there that allow you to earn cash by driving.

Here are some popular options to consider:

DoorDash

doordash vs. grubhub Male courier with thermo bag in car. Food delivery service

DoorDash is a popular food delivery service in more than 4,000 cities across the United States, Canada, and Australia.

As a DoorDash driver, also known as a “Dasher,” you can make money by picking up restaurant food orders and delivering them to hungry customers.

Like other gig economy platforms, DoorDash offers flexibility in work hours, allowing you to create a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

To become a Dasher, you’ll need a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle (or even a bike in some areas).

Postmates

Postmates also offers delivery services in more than 3,500 cities throughout the United States.

As a Postmates driver, you can deliver meals from restaurants, retail items, groceries, and other products to customers.

To maximize your earnings as a Postmates driver, you should try to be available during peak delivery hours, typically in the evenings and on weekends.

Uber Eats

Uber Eats is part of Uber, but instead of driving people around, you’re picking up food from local spots and getting it to people who’d rather stay home.

When you sign up to drive for Uber Eats, it’s a gig job, which means you’re your own boss, running your own mini business.

Grubhub

Grubhub is a food delivery service that connects customers with local restaurants- and you can get paid to make their deliveries.

When you are driving for Grubhub is that you can earn a competitive hourly wage and receive tips from satisfied customers.

Plus, Grubhub offers incentives and bonuses to drivers who complete a certain number of deliveries within a set time frame.

Instacart

Is Instacart Worth It, Woman shopping for Instacart customer

Instacart is a grocery delivery service that allows customers to order groceries online from their favorite local stores and deliver them to their doorstep.

As an Instacart shopper, you can use your car to shop for groceries and deliver them to customers in your area.

Like the other gig-driving jobs, you can set your own schedule and work as many or as few hours as you like.

To become an Instacart shopper, you must complete a background check and provide basic information about yourself and your vehicle.

Lyft

Lyft is another excellent opportunity for rideshare drivers to earn money using your vehicle.

Available in hundreds of cities across the United States and Canada, Lyft operates similarly to Uber, connecting riders with rideshare drivers through a convenient mobile app.

Lyft also offers “Prime Time” pricing, which increases the fare during periods of high demand, allowing drivers to earn more.

Shipt

Shipt is a membership-based, on-demand grocery delivery service like Instacart.

Operating in numerous cities across the United States, Shipt partners with local retailers to offer customers a convenient way to shop for groceries and household essentials.

As a Shipt shopper, you’ll be responsible for shopping for and delivering customers’ orders within a designated time frame.

Shoppers are paid a commission based on the order total, plus 100% of the tips they receive from customers.

FAQs

Is driving for Uber actually profitable?

Yes, driving for Uber can be profitable if done right.

To figure out if Uber driving will be worth it for you, you’ve got to take a hard look at your specific situation.

Look at things like how much you’d potentially earn in your area, the driver expenses, and how much time you’re willing to put in.

Think about where you’re planning to drive. If it’s in a busy area, especially during peak time, you could make some good money.

And remember, how much ride demand is in your area and how well people tip can make a difference in your Uber earnings.

How is Uber pay calculated?

Woman thinking about money with a black background

How much is the Uber driver pay?

It’s not just the distance and time of the ride but also other factors like a surge or boosts pricing.

Your total payment will be Fare + Promotions + Tips.

But remember, Uber also takes a 25% cut from the pay drivers make for connecting you with riders.

If you check your Uber app for possible rides, you’ll see your estimated earnings, so you’ll know before you accept the ride if it’s worth your time.

What is surge pricing?

You know, when you open your Uber app, the prices are suddenly higher than they were a minute ago?

That’s surge pricing in action, where Uber drivers can earn 1 – 3X as much per ride.

Uber increases the prices whenever there’s a high demand for rides — like after a concert or major sporting event — and there aren’t many drivers available.

It’s a way to make sure people who need a ride can get one. It’s also a way to get the most Uber drivers to meet the demand and make extra money.

The Uber app shows you areas where surge prices are in effect, and you can head over there to earn more. It’s all about supply and demand, right?

How much can you make per day with Uber?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer for what your pay may be. The amount you can pocket depends on when and where you’re driving and even what day of the week.

Think about it this way: driving during peak times in a busy city will earn you more than cruising around a quiet suburb on a random Tuesday morning.

On average, Uber drivers tend to make somewhere in the ballpark of $15 to $20 per hour with a few rides around town.

But remember, that’s just the average that Uber pays. Some days might be super busy, and you’ll make more. Other days might be slow, and you’ll make less.

The key to making money as a rideshare driver is to understand your market, plan your schedule smartly, and be ready to adapt if things change.

Does Uber or Lyft pay better?

Uber vs. Lyft is a classic question; again, it depends on how much you work to know if one pays more than the other.

Straight up, Uber pays more per fare than Lyft- but Lyft only takes a 20% commission, whereas Uber takes 25%.

And hey, you don’t have to pick just one. Many other drivers double-dip as a rideshare driver, and people often become both Uber and Lyft drivers.

That way, they can switch between the two depending on the demand and where to make the most money. It’s all about being savvy and making the system work for you.

Is it easier to deliver food or drive people around?

Male courier with orders in car. Food delivery service

Delivering food through services like Uber Eats, DoorDash, or Postmates has its perks. You don’t need to make small talk or deal with potentially unruly passengers.

You pick up the food and drop it off, with little human interaction and no one in the car with you.

It’s also a bit more predictable—you know where the restaurant is and where the delivery needs to go.

But, food delivery can have its challenges. You might deal with parking issues, waiting for orders to be ready, and ensuring the food stays warm and intact during transit.

On the other hand, driving people around with Uber can be more socially engaging. You get to meet people, and the tips can potentially be higher for these gig economy jobs.

But it can also come with challenges, like managing difficult passengers, handling unexpected route changes, or dealing with traffic and road safety.

I personally like driving food deliveries more because there’s less variety with riders, and I can get dinner for myself while I’m at it.

When is the best time to drive people?

People generally need rides when they’re going to or coming back from work or school, heading out, or coming back from a night on the town.

To give you a bit more detail, the hottest hours for ride requests usually fall between 6 – 10 am and 4 – 8 pm on weekdays.

On weekends, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, it picks up from around 6 pm – 3 am, though you don’t have to work that late unless you’re a night owl.

But remember, these are just general trends, and they can vary quite a bit depending on where you’re driving.

Does your city affect how much money you’ll make?

Absolutely! The city you choose to drive in can greatly affect how much money Uber pays you as an Uber driver.

As mentioned on Uber’s website, the driver pay structure for Uber drivers is location-dependent, meaning those per-mile and per-minute rates can fluctuate based on the city or region you’re in.

And that’s not all – the ride demand can also vary widely by location, which can make a big difference in the frequency of ride requests and the surge prices you might see.

Our Thoughts

driving

After looking into what it’s like to drive for Uber, it’s clear that this gig could be a solid moneymaker for some folks, but it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

You get to be your own boss, pick your own hours, and have decent earning potential. It’s a pretty sweet deal if you’re hunting for gig economy jobs in your spare time.

Like anything else, it’s all about weighing the pros and cons to see if it fits snugly into your lifestyle.

You need to factor in gas, vehicle maintenance, and vehicle insurance costs. Plus, there are potential unruly passengers and far-away passenger requests.

But overall, I think driving for Uber can be a pretty rewarding experience if you go in with your eyes wide open and realistic expectations.

So get driving and earn more money on the side!

Where & How To Sell Your Poop For Fast Cash (2023) https://thesavvycouple.com/sell-your-poop/ https://thesavvycouple.com/sell-your-poop/#respond Wed, 24 May 2023 19:18:25 +0000 https://thesavvycouple.com/?p=38553 If your bank account isn’t looking so hot, it may be time to find weird ways to make money.

Today, we’re venturing into a seldom-explored territory, where your number twos can quickly turn into dollar signs. That’s right—we’re talking about selling your poop.

Think about it – you’re doing it daily (well, we hope you are). Why not sell your poop?

This isn’t some potty joke; it’s a legitimate way to make a difference, save lives, and make some extra cash.

You might think of poop as something you want to flush away. But your poop is a treasure trove of valuable information and vital microbes in gut health and microbiota.

It’s like a secret language that tells a detailed story about your health and diet. And there are folks out there who are very interested in deciphering that story.

So, whether you’re a struggling college student or someone with an exceptional digestive system, keep reading to learn more about becoming a stool donor.

Key Takeaways

  • Sell your poop and get paid to poop: With some effort and fiber, you could start raking in cash for your stool donation.
  • High-quality poop donors are in demand: If you’re in exceptional physical and mental health with regular bowel movements, you may qualify as a stool donor.
  • Stool donation can save lives: By selling your poop, you’re contributing to treating chronic diseases such as ulcerative colitis.
  • The process is safe and regulated: HumanMicrobes and BiomeBank offer safe, regulated processes for stool donation, including online screenings and simple collection kits.

3 Places Where To Sell Your Poop

Well, folks, it’s time to answer the burning question on everyone’s mind: where on Earth can you sell your poop?

We searched the internet for who would buy your stool donation and found top-notch organizations eagerly awaiting your precious, ahem, deliveries.

1. Human Microbes

First up on our list is none other than Human Microbes. The scientists at Human Microbes are all about that good gut microbiome.

The stool you provide is used for fecal microbiota transplants, a medical procedure that can help individuals suffering from inflammatory bowel disease or gastrointestinal disease.

Human Microbes is in the market for high-quality poo donors with a certain stool type to help their patients- and they pay $500 per qualifying stool!

So, if you’re regular and your stool passes the specific Bristol stool type test, you might just be their next high-quality stool donor.

2. GoodNature

GoodNature also takes a special interest in the gut microbiome and its profound impact on physical health.

With an offer that’s hard to resist, GoodNature is willing to pay high-quality stool donors up to a whopping $1,500 per month for poop.

They’re on the hunt for individuals in exceptional physical shape, free of chronic diseases and gut disorders, to donate stool.

Their ideal donor is a picture of health, with requirements such as:

  • Between 18 and 50 years old
  • Boasting a regular bowel movement
  • Healthy weight
  • Living a life free of smoking, alcohol, and drug abuse

However, pregnant individuals are encouraged to wait until after their pregnancy to participate since hormones and pregnancy fluctuate your health.

3. BiomeBank

BiomeBank

Like the other organizations we’ve discussed, BiomeBank is looking for fit individuals of normal weight who have had minimal antibiotic use.

Once you pass the screening process, you’ll commit to an 8-week donation period where your donations will be turned in to help advance medical treatments for chronic disease.

Donations are accepted multiple times weekly at their Thebarton facility, per TGA regulations. You can donate stool and be on your way in as little as 15 minutes.

With donation times available in the morning and afternoon, healthy donors can choose a time that aligns with their natural bathroom schedule.

Donors should maintain a fiber-rich diet and hydrate adequately during the donation period to ensure optimal bowel movements.

Don’t be disheartened if you don’t meet the screening process for their FMT program.

Your poop might not be a perfect fit for transplants, but your stool samples could still play a crucial role in the scientific exploration of gut health.

How To Sell Your Poop

Ready to turn your bathroom breaks into a profitable venture? In this section, we’ll guide you through how to sell your poop.

Prepare to embark on a journey where your poop makes a difference, both medically and financially!

1. Check Qualifications

healthywage review weight loss

The first step is to review what companies are looking for and what they expect from your poop.

The qualifications for donating stool are quite specific, and the above organizations are looking for qualified donors to give high-quality stools.

The ideal stool donor is in top-notch physical health, with a normal weight and a clean bill of health for chronic gastrointestinal disease or gut disorders.

Your daily habits play a significant role here. They’re looking for healthy donors who exercise regularly, eat a balanced diet, and have good hydration.

Minimal antibiotic use is also typically preferred when you donate stool, as antibiotics can significantly alter the gut microbiome.

You’ll need to evaluate your overall physical fitness, health, and lifestyle, plus check with your doctor about your overall health for donations.

That way, you’ll know if you meet the requirements or not right away.

2. Apply Online

After you’ve checked the qualifications, the next step is to apply as a donor, which is as easy as a few clicks on the websites.

Most organizations offer an online screening questionnaire that you can conveniently fill out or a phone screening where you can answer questions- and ask a few of your own too.

There’s a variety of questions about your own health history and lifestyle. It’s like a casual chat about your daily routine, dietary habits, and medical history.

Remember, transparency is key here. You’re not just applying to sell your poop but also playing a crucial part in scientific research and potentially life-saving treatments.

You need to be honest to ensure your samples are viable!

3. Submit A Stool Sample

bathroom poop sample

Once you’ve become an approved donor, now comes the moment you’ve been waiting for – submitting your stool sample.

And don’t worry; it’s not complicated at all to get your sample ready and shipped!

The companies provide a simple collection kit, which usually includes an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack or dry ice to keep your sample fresh.

You’ll place your sample in a plastic bag inside the insulated bag, and if required, you might store it in a freezer overnight before sending it to the donation center.

FAQs

Can I sell my poop?

You can absolutely sell your poop. This isn’t some bizarre scheme to trick you or anything, but rather a well-established scientific practice in the medical field.

Stool donations are used for critical medical treatments such as fecal microbiota transplant(FMT), which can help patients suffering from gastrointestinal diseases and more.

You must meet specific health history and lifestyle qualifications, complete an online assessment, and follow the proper procedure for collecting and submitting your sample.

Then you can get paid to poop and have some extra cash in the bank.

How much can I make selling poop?

dollar bill spare change money

The amount you can make selling your poop can vary depending on the organization and your qualifications as a donor.

On average, you might make anywhere from $40 to $50 per stool donation.

Some organizations may even have programs where you can earn even more.

With GoodNature, you can earn up to $1,500 monthly for daily donations; HumanMicrobes pays $500 per stool.

What places pay for poop?

You might be surprised to learn that several reputable organizations are willing to pay for your poop.

These include Human Microbes, GoodNature, and BiomeBank.

Each of these places is deeply invested in studying the gut and the potential benefits that a healthy gut can offer.

But don’t worry! All of this is done while ensuring your absolute anonymity.

Your stool samples are treated like any other medical specimen, with strict confidentiality protocols to protect your identity.

Why do places buy poop?

doctor and nurse

Great question! These organizations buy poop for a noble purpose if that is your concern.

They use it for a fecal microbiota transplant, which helps people suffering from various chronic diseases and gastrointestinal disorders.

Think of your poop as a little ecosystem teeming with diverse gut microbes. For some folks, their ecosystem is a bit out of whack.

That’s where you come in- the superhero of stool. Not all heroes wear capes. Some just have regular bowel poos.

By selling your poop, you’re helping restore balance to poorly functioning gut microbiomes.

What are the requirements for poop donors?

Now, you may be raring to get paid to poop, but before you get too excited, remember there are requirements for poop donors.

First off, you’ll need to be in exceptional physical health and have a healthy weight. You should have no history of chronic diseases or gut disorders either.

Your lifestyle matters too., like minimal antibiotic use and no history of alcohol abuse or drug abuse.

And at the basic level, you also need to have regular bowel movements. They’re not interested in that once-every-few-days kinda deal.

They want high-quality donors who are regular every day that can deliver good-quality stools.

Final Thoughts

bathroom

Well, there you have it, folks – how to make some extra money and sell your poop online.

From the potential goldmine sitting in your toilet bowl all this time to the noble cause of fecal microbiota transplant, we’ve covered the basics of how to sell your poop.

Organizations like Human Microbes, GoodNature, and BiomeBank are looking for the best potential donors.

But let’s not forget the real gem here: your toilet time can play a crucial role in battling chronic diseases and gastrointestinal disorders.

You’re not just flushing away waste; you’re flushing away potential health solutions!

So, put your poop to good use, and let your bowel movements make a big difference in the medical world.

Proofread Anywhere is designed for anyone who loves reading, spotting errors, and wants to learn how to proofread (whether they have experience or not).

The course is designed for individuals who want to start their own proofreading business, freelance proofreaders needing some refreshers, and anyone who wants to learn more about proofreading.

Is Proofread Anywhere Right for You?

Ultimately, that depends on where you are in your proofreading journey and what you want to get out of it.

Total beginners who have never proofread before will find the general proofreading course especially helpful as it starts from the basics and builds from there.

People looking for a side hustle that you can do in your spare time will find the course helpful, as will people looking for a career change.

If you’re looking for a course to teach you how to become an expert in proofreading and willing to put in the time and effort to complete the modules and assignments, then Proofread Anywhere could be a good fit for you.

Experienced proofreaders looking to take their proofreading skills to the next level may also find the course helpful, but they may find that some of the material is redundant.

Our Proofread Anywhere Review is our honest opinion, but I know sometimes you need a bit more encouragement that’s not just words on the screen.

People have been reviewing Caitlin’s course since the beginning, and old students leaving glowing reviews are what convinced us to take Proofread Anywhere, too.

Since you may want a Proforead Anywhere review, a student’s honest thoughts, we found a few testimonial videos for you to check out:

Audrey worked a full-time job, had her kiddos running around, and enjoyed a fulfilling family life, but her typical 9-5 just wasn’t working for her anymore.

She started out with the free workshop, and after getting more info from the general proofreading course and emails, she jumped on board with a great side hustle.

Audrey hasn’t quit her full-time job just yet, but could in the future. After working as a proofreader for 18 months, she has a fully booked schedule with room to grow.

Elizabeth is a stay-at-home mom who works part-time (sometimes full-time!) as a proofreader after taking the general proofreading course with Proofread Anywhere.

The course had great reviews to pull her in, but it was the coursework itself, as well as the business-focused directions that were exactly what she needed to take her side hustle to a professional level.

Georgina took the Proofread Anywhere course at her own pace and it changed her career direction, helping her rise above some obstacles she was facing at the time.

Since taking the course, she has learned so much about proofreading, new client acquisition, and how to market herself as a strong professional in the proofreading world.

FAQs

Beautiful freelancer working with a laptop in a desk at home room or officeIs Proofread Anywhere legit? Is it a scam, or is it worth the money?

Proofread Anywhere is legit and will do everything it promises to get your business off the ground.

The course is easy to follow, and like any other class you’d take, you need to read and practice to incorporate the skills into your profession.

Like any other thing in your life, you get what you put in, as you’re learning the necessary skills at your own pace.

If you want an introductory lesson in proofreading, Caitlin for a FREE workshop to check out before buying the full course load.

Why should I take the Proofread Anywhere course to learn about proofreading?

Proofread Anywhere is an online proofreading and editing course that can help you learn the skills you need to start your own freelance proofreading business.

Professional proofreaders teach the course with years of experience, and it covers everything from basic grammar skills to how to market yourself as a proofreader.

Plus, there are a variety of bonus resources available, including a proofreading online job board and a private group on Facebook for students.

If you’re looking to improve your proofreading skills or are interested in starting your own freelance business, Proofread Anywhere is the course for you!

What is proofreading, and what do proofreaders do?

Proofreading is a process of reviewing written material to find and correct mistakes in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style.

It’s a great way to make money from home and have flexibility with your schedule and even your pay rate.

Proofreaders must have a keen eye for detail, read and understand text quickly, and have excellent grammar skills.

A degree isn’t necessary for proofreading professionally, but you must be familiar with the basics of proofreading, like general English language rules. This is why many people turn to proofreading courses.

What’s the difference between Proofreading & Editing?

Proofreading is the process of checking a text for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes.

This includes making sure that all the words are spelled correctly, that there are no incorrect or missing punctuation marks, and that the grammar is correct.

Editing is making changes to a text to improve its readability, accuracy, and style.

It may involve correcting errors, improving the writing flow, and ensuring that the language used is appropriate for the audience.

Editors may also make suggestions for changes that could be made to improve the clarity or impact of the writing.

Why should I become a proofreader?

woman budgeting on laptop in bed

Proofreading is a great way to make money fast, as there are so many job opportunities, and the work is relatively easy to do.

As a proofreader, you’ll be responsible for reviewing the work of others for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes.

You don’t need to have an English degree or be a professional proofreader to become successful as a proofreader.

Proofreading is a skill that can be learned, and many online resources can help you get started.

One of the best things is that the work can be done from anywhere in the world. It will put you on the road to making more money as a proofreader.

You can work on your own schedule, and you don’t need to have any prior experience or training.

Plus, many online proofreading jobs are available, so you can find something that fits your skills and interests.

Is it worth taking proofreading courses, or can I be a proofreader without taking courses or getting certified?

I think for most career paths, it’s worth taking an online course, whether it’s for proofreading, bookkeeping, freelance writing, or anything else.

Taking an online course is one of the best ways to gain experience in a field you’re new to, and the cost of a course usually pays itself back once you start getting clients.

If you’re worried about the cost of online courses, you can still launch your career with the certificates or anything on your resume/job profile.

You can join sites like Steady, FlexJobs, and more to apply for jobs and see what you can land and what experience you can gain without a course.

However, some new proofreaders find it can be slow going since they don’t have a certificate to back them up. Having a certificate usually instills more trust with clients when you’re a beginner.

If cost is your main drawback, you can always take the free workshop and think about it first before you commit.

And even if you start your career first and then find you’re struggling to land clients, you can take Proofread Anywhere at any time to improve your business.

Does Proofread Anywhere have a sale or coupon code I can use?

proofread anywhere free workshop

If you want to buy the Proofread Anywhere course from the official website, at this moment in time, there is no sale or coupon code available.

However, Caitlin has mentioned that she sometimes runs a promo where people can get a discount on the course price. So keep your eyes peeled for those!

The best way to get started is by taking Caitlin’s FREE Proofreading Workshop, where you can get a sneak peek into the course plus get a discount for the full course.

You can sign up, get a feel for the lessons and course, and even decide if proofreading is the right career for you.

But better yet, you get a discount when you sign up after the workshop!

What is transcript proofreading, and how is it different than general proofreading?

Transcript proofreading is one specific form of proofreading.

Transcription itself is someone listening to audio files and typing what they hear.

But people make mistakes, and someone needs to review their work for accuracy- plus make sure that the content is something people can read and understand.

That’s where transcript proofreading comes in.

You may need to also listen to the audio to know what’s going on in the content, but you mainly need to check for errors and see what doesn’t make sense.

Other Work-From-Home Career Options

Proofreading is a great option for many people, but it’s not the only one. Other work-from-home options available can be just as rewarding and beneficial.

These other options include working as a bookkeeper, virtual assistant, or transcriptionist.

Each option has its pros and cons, so it’s important to do your research before deciding which one is right for you.

Many work-from-home side hustle ideas does not require any upfront investment or overhead costs.

You can start offering your services to clients and begin earning money right away.

Here are a few other ideas to get you started:

FAQs: Online Typing Jobs

Why should I consider a typing job?

high paying jobs with no experience business, finance, saving, banking and people concept - close up of woman hiding her face behind us dollar money fan

If you’re looking for a relatively easy job that doesn’t require prior experience and is one of the best work-from-home jobs, you should consider a typing job. Typing jobs are typically straightforward.

They are perfect for people who don’t have a lot of experience in the workplace but have basic typing skills.

Another great thing about online typing jobs is that most of them can be done from anywhere – all you need is a computer and an internet connection.

This makes them perfect for people who want to work from home or who want to be able to travel while still keeping up with their work commitments.

What kinds of online typing jobs are there?

There are all kinds of jobs where you get paid to type online that you can do from home:

Proofreading

how to become a proofreader

Proofreading is not a typing job, but it is a job that involves a lot of reading and checking other people’s typing. Proofreaders read over documents to check for grammar, spelling, or punctuation errors.

Learn how to become a proofreader and start your freelance proofreading business in this FREE workshop from Proofread Anywhere!

Freelance Writing

There are also plenty of opportunities to get paid to type for freelance writers. As a freelance writer, you would be responsible for writing articles, blog posts, or even web content.

It’s an option if you have strong writing skills and enjoy working independently. Our Freelance Write From Home course shows you how to start a profitable freelance writing business.

Transcription

One option is to become a transcriptionist. Transcriptionists listen to audio files and type out what they hear. This can be anything from an interview to a lecture to medical transcription.

Try taking this FREE mini-course from Transcribe Anywhere to jumpstart your transcription career.

Data Entry

Another way to get paid to type is data entry. A data entry clerk enters information into computers or databases. This can include anything from invoices to handwritten documents to customer records.

If you have experience with Microsoft Office or other software programs, data entry might be what you are looking to do.

What equipment is needed for a typing job?

If you want to get paid to type online, you’ll need some essential equipment. First and foremost, of course, is a computer.

You’ll also need a fast and reliable high-speed internet connection, a foot pedal, transcription software, and a comfortable chair and workspace.

A word processing program like Microsoft Word or Google Docs is also needed. Other programs may be needed depending on the specific job requirements. For example, you may need a spreadsheet program like Excel to do data entry.

How much can I earn working from home?

Thanks to the internet, there are more opportunities to work from home and get paid to type online than ever.

And while there are plenty of benefits to working from home freelancing – like not having to commute and being able to wear pajamas all day – one of the common questions is: how much can I earn?

The answer, unfortunately, is not as simple as we would like. It depends on some factors, including what you’re doing, how much experience you have, and whether you’re willing to put in the extra effort to hustle.

If you’re just getting started, don’t expect to make a ton of money right away. Building up a client base and reputation as a reliable freelancer takes time.

However, once you get established, you can start charging higher rates. Most freelancers charge by the hour, with rates ranging from $20 – $100 per hour depending on their skillset and experience.

How do I get hired to work from home?

website testing jobs laptop

There are a few different ways to get hired to work from home and make more money typing. One way is to contact companies directly and inquire about remote job openings.

Another way is to use job search engines specializing in telecommuting jobs, like FlexJobs. You can also look for job postings that specifically mention the ability to work from home and type online.

Once you’ve found a few potential getpaid to type jobs, the next step is to create a strong resume and cover letter that demonstrate your qualifications and highlight your skills.

Finally, be prepared to sell yourself during the interview process and explain why you would be the perfect candidate for the job. With a bit of effort, it’s possible to land a work-from-home gig.

Are most typing jobs also data entry jobs?

The short answer is: it depends. Data entry work primarily focuses on entering numerical or alphanumeric data into computers.

These jobs tend to be more repetitive and require fewer specialized skills than typing jobs. Data entry jobs are found in various industries, including accounting, healthcare, and market research.

Other typing jobs can involve a lot of different tasks, from transcribing audio to categorizing information. And while some online typing jobs may also involve data entry, there are also many typing-only positions.

For some positions, such as transcriptionists or court reporters, the focus is squarely on accuracy and speed. Typists are expected to transcribe spoken words verbatim in these roles, which means there’s little room for error.

Other positions, such as copywriting or copyediting, may also require a high degree of accuracy but with a bit more flexibility in grammar and style.

DollarSprout FAQs

What is DollarSprout Rewards?

DollarSprout Rewards Review

DollarSprout Rewards is a legitimate company that offers a browser extension designed to help you save more money on your everyday purchases while shopping online.

With access to over 15,000 merchants, DollarSprout Rewards gives its members actual cash back on online shopping.

Thanks to their free extension and user-friendly iOS app, it’s incredibly simple to start earning rewards and earn more money.

Like Honey or Rakuten, DollarSprout Rewards has unique features that make it stand out.

For instance, DollarSprout Rewards automatically pays you via PayPal each month if you have sufficient funds in your account, making it one of the best platforms for cashback.

How much money can you make with the DollarSprout Rewards app?

The amount of cashback you can earn depends on how often you shop online and the cashback percentages offered by the stores you shop at.

Besides that, if you’re savvy and take advantage of any extra promos or deals and the other third-party sites’ cashback rates, you’ll also increase your cashback.

Cashback rates vary from store to store and even between products, so it’s tricky to give you an exact number.

You can earn, on average, 5 – 10% on your purchases, so for everyone $100 you spend, it could be between $5 – $10 in cashback.

But, if you keep using the app every time you shop online, those cash-back rewards can seriously add up over time.

So, just keep on shopping and saving, my friend! The more you use the app, the more money you’ll earn back.

Which cashback app gives me the most rewards?

woman making money from online survey sites

Many cashback apps are available, each offering varying rewards and features for in-store and/or online purchases.

The app that rewards you most may depend on your shopping habits and preferences and what retailers you want to shop at.

To find the best cashback app for you, exploring and comparing different options is a good idea.

Here are my favorite cashback apps that I use together to get the most cash back:

Can I use more than one cash-back app?

Absolutely! You can use multiple apps to maximize your savings and earn more money.

Many savvy shoppers combine DollarSprout Rewards with other popular apps like Kashkick and Swagbucks to take advantage of the best deals and rates at different retailers online.

Using multiple apps, you can get the most out of your online shopping experience and make the most of every dollar spent.

However, you may not be able to stack rewards from multiple apps for the same purchase, especially if you get paid to take pictures of receipts.

Be sure to read the terms and conditions for each app to understand their policies on combining rewards and even stacking coupons.

Other Cash Back & Rewards Apps

If you love the cashback opportunities provided by DollarSprout Rewards, you might be curious to explore even more ways to save and earn while you shop.

What Is an Online Job?

An online job is any type of work that you do on the internet. Most online jobs allow you to be self-employed, which means you become your own boss!

This usually means you work as an independent contractor for other companies, which allows you to have multiple small online jobs that you work as a freelancer

Alternatively, you could have one client who needs a lot of work done, so you don’t need multiple jobs.

The best online jobs are entirely remote, which means you don’t need to go into an office at any time. These types of employment options are great for people who need flexible work arrangements.

Starting a blog is definitely still one of the best online jobs I’ve ever had!

You’re currently reading the blog that my wife Brittany and I run together, which is currently earning us over $40,000 per month – so you can see that the income potential is huge!

Although like with any small business, it’s not just a case of putting up a website and watching the money roll in – you need to have a good plan.

That means creating high-quality content that matches user intent and helps solves problems. Then monetizing your work so you content brings in money.

There are various ways that you can earnmoney with a blog, but the main ways are:

You know when you’re on a website and you see some ads, typically in the sidebar? The website will be paying for the ads that are on the site, and you can have these on yours.

When a company wants you to talk about them specifically, they will pay you to do so. This will usually be in the form of an article on the blog, and sometimes with social media shares as well.

Ideas could be things like coaching, consulting, digital printables, courses, etc. We make well over $10,000 per month from just selling our digital printables in our shop.

A majority of those sites that appear in the search results are niche sites. They create valuable content, try to rank in Google, and earn a commission every time someone clicks through one of the affiliate links and makes a purchase.

Two of the biggest most popular niche sites around The Wire Cutter and The Spruce rank in millions of dollars a year.

If you are super passionate about a topic like baby gear, dogs, food prep, cooking, yoga, video games, etc then you can make a niche site and start making some awesome money. It takes a lot of time and effort but the income is unlimited like it is with blogging.

You can do the same things that they do and earn money without a lot of money needed upfront.

The great thing about them is that they find a lot of stuff for free that people are throwing out, or super cheap at flea markets – which you could do too. We are talking about free money

If you want to sell on Amazon, please note that you won’t be eligible to sell in all of the categories at first.

Have you heard of Amazon FBA? It’s a great way to get into selling without having the stock take up loads of room in your home.

You can actually even sell on Amazon without leaving the house with online arbitrage.
